Does Partsify inspect hidden structural damage?

Accepted Answer

No. A remote report cannot replace a physical teardown, and Partsify does not claim to detect hidden structural, frame or mechanical damage. It reads the auction photos for visible damage, then names the likely replacement parts with OEM numbers and current supplier prices, estimates labor hours, and totals the repair before you bid.

Which auctions are supported?

Partsify supports Copart and IAAI lot pages. Paste a lot URL and Partsify pulls the vehicle, photo, bid and condition data from the auction, then generates the damage report. Reports cover 31 vehicle makes sold at US salvage auctions, so you can compare cars across both sources before you commit to a bid.

What do I get after registration?

Accepted Answer

Free registration unlocks one full report, so you can see the complete output before paying anything. That report names the visibly damaged parts, gives each part's OEM number and current supplier price with purchase links, estimates labor hours, and totals the repair. A first scan is available even without an account.

Question 4

Where does the data come from?

Accepted Answer

All vehicle data such as VIN, year, make, body type, engine type, and more comes directly from auction sources. Parts sourcing is based on manufacturer data as well as real-time supplier information. Labor hours come from the vehicle manufacturers' own repair-time data — the factory standard hours published for each operation, such as removing and refitting a panel. If you believe a generated report contains inaccuracies or you are not satisfied with the results, please contact us.

Why do some lots require me to enter a VIN manually?

For some lots, the VIN needs to be entered manually. You can usually find it in the vehicle photos - it will start with the same characters that are shown on the auction website before the asterisks (*).
